TOM Tuesday

My PMS is ravenous today.  I woke up hungry and despite drinking a protein shake for breakfast and eating mostly everything in sight since (ok so maybe not really everything but I've wanted to!) my stomach has not stopped grumbling from hunger!  Annoying.

I'm doing great with my water consumption as always (the one healthy habit I have without trying) and that isn't helping either.  I just ate a Jimmy John's club and bag of chips and now I want chocolate.

This is out of control.

Birthday Visit

Last month my brother and sister-in-law generously offered to meet me halfway so I could have Leedie for a weekend whenever I wanted and told me to just let them know when.  Well being that Mr. Woo is off this weekend for my birthday I suggested this weekend was the perfect time.  So Friday after work I'll drive (alone since John works a closing shift) two and half hours to meet them and pick up my niece!

I am so very excited and nervous all at the same time!

I'm most nervous about the two and half hour drive home by myself!

I hope I can figure out what to do with a baby.  Or should I call her a toddler now that's she's thirteen months?  Either way, I can't wait to try!

Roxy on the other hand will likely need lots of positive thoughts and good vibes for the weekend because knowing her she is not going to be so thrilled with all of this.  I'm pretty sure a baby (or toddler) walking around the house trying to get hold of her, stealing her [freshly cleaned] toys, squealing and babbling loudly is her idea of a plot for a horror movie.

My fingers are crossed and my camera is ready to capture it all!

Wouldn't Hurt a Beetle

Ok so as has been well established on this blog I listen to Pandora while I work when I can.  I have a mix of all kinds of stations on my account and as a result hear all kinds of songs.  Well I think I may have just heard the most random song ever, "Forrest Gump" by Frank Ocean.  Now I'm not hating on Frank Ocean.  He has some really good songs (a la "Thinkin' Bout You" and "Bad Religion" just to name a few) but this song's lyrics have me laughing out loud at it's randomness - which I am sure was not the song's intention.  I am copying the lyrics below so you can see what I mean.

A Prize in Every Pouch

I just found a bone in my tuna.  Not a small bone either.  A bone about the size of an embroidery needle.

You can't really tell the size in this picture but it was big and thick and gross.  Look at it compared to the prong of the plastic fork beside it.  Yikes!

Monday Meetings

Here's a post for that wonderful moment when the one meeting you had scheduled for your Monday gets cancelled and allows you to recoup from a headache plagued, insomnia filled weekend in the comfort of your office with only natural light and Pandora to keep you company.

Just what I needed.

Random Writings - Books

  • It's Friday!  Woo hoo!!  I am happy about this fact.
  • The Monthly Menace Express finally left Funkytown and it's now stationed in Normal City.  Thank goodness.
  • I recently made a blueberry cake from scratch loosely following my Berry Natural Strawberry Cake recipe.  The result was an outrageously cookie-monster-blue cake with purple whipped cream frosting that was just as delicious as it was odd to look at.
  • The blueberry cake was only made because the thing I tried to make, a blueberry roll, failed miserably.  John did eat it and said it was good but I still consider it a fail since I tried to follow a recipe and it did not come out as it was supposed to.
  • I am going to the library to return some books and am really excited to check out new ones.  I do find it a bit overwhelming though to try and figure out what books I want to read.  I am interested in so many things that finding the right book is a bit daunting.  As of late my current choices in books have been non-story books.  I've been in the mood to learn.  To improve.  To do.  Story books, fiction and non-fiction, are great but lately I've wanted to take action.  On my list of books to pick up today are two self improvement/motivational type books and two cookbooks.
  • This weekend shall consist of things such as cleaning the house while watching college football.  That combination sounds delightful at the moment.
  • I still have to post the last day of the photo challenge I started in April.  Maybe I'll do that this weekend too.
How do you pick which books to read?  What is a non-story book that you love and recommend?

Funkytown

I'm on the Monthly Menace Express currently stationed in Funkytown.

This place is so over rated.

The Return of College Football

Thursday marked the start of college football and the beginning of my favorite time of year.

The start of college football doesn't just mean I get to cheer on my Seminoles and CATS while wearing my garnet and gold or blue and white.  The start of college football means Pumpkin Spice Lattes, fall, my birthday, and the holiday season are just around the corner.

The fact that three of the four guys on College Game Day are picking FSU in the BCS title game doesn't hurt my excitement either.
